Quotation/Estimate

This quotation or estimate should be read in conjunction with the quotation or estimate form and is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue after which time we reserve the right to alter or amend it.

Confirmation

A quotation or estimate is binding only as an offer to do the work at the price named, provided the offer is accepted in writing (ie signed and dated) by the customer.

Scheduling

While every attempt will be made to commence and complete all works as scheduled, delays may occur due to extenuating circumstances such as poor weather conditions, delays of outwork or unforeseen works (see below). If this occurs, we will endeavour to complete the job as soon as other scheduling allows.

Unforeseen Works

The cost of the repairs and renewals of any defects which are not visible at the time of estimating, will be chargeable unless allowance for such items is specifically included in the quotation or estimate.

Variations

The value of any variations to work included in the quotation or estimate ordered and authorized by the customer whether in addition, by omission or by substitution, should wherever practicable, be agreed before the variation shall be added or deducted from the price stated in the quotation or estimate. No variation shall violate the contract, any variation will be carried out expressly subject to these conditions.

Miscellaneous

It is assumed that the customer will remove all their property from the working area, unless provision is made to the contrary in the quotation or estimate, or by mutual agreement.

Insurance

Irrespective of any insurance taken out by Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd the customer should inform their insurer that decorating works are to be carried out on the property and satisfy themselves that they are adequately covered by insurance. Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd is not liable for the loss of or damage to the works, materials on site or any property of the customer, unless the same is caused by negligence of, or breach of contract by Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd.

Disputes

Any dispute shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of the Arbitration Act 1996.

Warranties

The parties acknowledge that all warranty provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply to this contract, except where inconsistent with this contract. Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd will assume that any materials not supplied by Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd, and purchased by the client from other suppliers, will be suitable for the intended purpose. In the unlikely event that any warranty issues should arise, all warranty claims in relation to said products will remain the responsibility of the purchaser to remedy with the retailer or the supplier of the goods.

Deposits

Depending on the scale of the job and what it entails, a general deposit may be required prior to commencement of work on-site.

Payment

Invoices will be e-mailed or posted after all work has been completed, and shall be paid in full on the due date. In the case of work taking more than one working week to complete, interim weekly payments to the value of the goods and services carried out will be requested, and shall be paid in full on the due date.

Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd shall be entitled to charge interest on any unpaid account or amount not received on the due date at the rate of 22.5% per annum calculated daily. Any expenses, disbursements and legal costs incurred by Precision Paperhanging and Painting Ltd in the enforcement of any rights contained in the contract shall be paid by the customer, including any reasonable solicitor’s fees or debt collection agency.

Cancellation

In the event of the customer cancelling works 7 days or less before the arranged start date Precision Paperhanging and Painting shall be entitled to charge 10% of the original price quoted.
